Arranging A Funeral
Most people have never had to arrange a funeral before, so we’re here to help and guide you through everything that will need to be done in the coming days and weeks.
Our role is to help you every step of the way to arrange a funeral that is a unique and fitting send-off for your loved one.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask us.
Where To Start With Arranging A Funeral
After the death of a loved one, some steps need to be taken immediately after the death to confirm and then register the death. Choosing a funeral director and arranging the funeral is the next step.
When you choose Thomas Furber & Co., from the moment we receive your call, we’re here to support you every step of the way with care and compassion. We’ll guide you through the process of organising a funeral that is right for you and perfectly reflects the life of your loved one.
Bringing Your Loved One Into Our Care
When you first call us, we need to take a few details so that we can collect the person who has died and bring them into our care.
When your loved one arrives at Thomas Furber & Co., we will take them into our mortuary and be cared for by our expert team of professionals.
We treat every person who stays with us with the same care and respect as if they are a member of our own family.
We can also arrange for you to visit your loved one in our Chapel of Rest.
The Arrangement Meeting
We will then arrange a suitable time and date to meet you. The meeting can be at our funeral home, we can visit you at your home, or we can speak on the telephone or via a video call. The choice is yours.
We start by spending time getting to know you and your loved one and discussing what you know about their funeral wishes.
Don’t worry if you don’t know what type of funeral they wanted; simply talking about your loved one, the kind of person they were, and their passions and achievements will help us create a truly unique and personal funeral.
What Type Of Funeral Is Right For You And Your Loved One?
Suppose you’re not sure whether your loved one would have preferred a cremation, burial, or something a bit different, such as a direct cremation or natural burial, this overview gives you an idea of what to expect from each. We can also discuss the options and help you decide what is right for you.
Whatever type of funeral you choose, you can rest assured that we’ll make it an occasion that will honour the life of your loved one and give comfort to those left behind.
Our Funeral Services
Every funeral we arrange is unique to the person that has died and their family, but to make it easier for you to choose the level of service that you require, we have created four packages. Each package offers varying levels of personalisation options and choices, so you can choose the package that best suits your needs and budget.
These are our Bespoke Funeral, Simple Funeral, Intimate Funeral and our Unattended Direct Cremation.
Personalising The Funeral
Each of our packages can be personalised and there are lots of ways to honour the life and achievements of your loved one through the choices of coffin, cars, flowers as well as music and readings. We’ll guide you through all the options so you can create a truly fitting send off for your loved one.
Funeral Prices – How Much Will The Funeral Cost?
The cost of the funeral varies depending on the choices you make. Each aspect of the funeral, will always have different options to suit various needs and budgets. As we discuss the arrangements, we will provide an itemised estimate and explain each cost. All our prices are transparent, with no hidden fees or extras.
All funeral directors are required by law to publish a price list for a standardised set of products and services, so you can make informed decisions and compare prices between funeral directors.
The range of options and choices available for you at Thomas Furber & Co. Funeral Directors extends far beyond the Standardised Price List. We work closely to arrange any funeral you wish, simple or elaborate, and ensure that it meets your needs and budget.
Paying For The Funeral
An invoice will be sent to you two days after the funeral date, and settlement of your account is due within four weeks.
